Established in the international year of the youth , 1985, WOSY is an international body of the young. It strives to help humankind in its search for happiness and fulfillment . Most such ideas that saw conflict by exhorting rampant exploitation of nature,m control over our shared resource and unbridled consumption have failed.

A new thinking towards a more harmonius and sataiable life system has become all the more necessary. The failed system had become all the more necessary. The failded old order is dying ; the new is yet to be born .

WOSY is an effort to accelerate the process of search for a new order that unities that mankind.
WOSY is a mobilization of the students and youth in the quest of a new all encompassing-poltical, economic, social, technological-world order that is just and lasting. Therefore , WOSY promotes friendship and cooperation among the youth across the globe. WOSY supports peace and co-existence by bringing youth from diverse civilizational and ethic contexts together, Thus, WOSY fasters better international understanding.

WOSY stands against discrimination. WOSY is committed to the cause of healthy environment. WOSY believes in one indivisible and is driven by the age-old Indian percept that "World is one family" .

WOSY manifests in the promotion of this motto through , seminars, tour, conference, publications and many such activities among the youth, which are entirely for the youth and of the youth.
